Saša Bezjak – Visual Artist, Educator, Cultural Organizer

Saša Bezjak is a Slovenian visual artist and educator, active in the field of culture since 2002. She holds degrees in painting and sculpture and works across various media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and performance. Her artistic practice spans solo and group exhibitions at local, national, and international levels. She organizes and leads art colonies, workshops, and lectures for diverse age groups. In addition to her solo exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad, she actively collaborates with other artists and curates exhibitions. Many now-independent artists have learned painting skills under her mentorship. Bezjak has created two public sculptures in her hometown of Gornja Radgona and engages in socially inclusive art practices, especially with people with special needs. She conducts creative workshops at the Gornja Radgona unit of the Murska Sobota Center for Occupational Activity and leads all visual activities at the Museum of Madness (Muzej norosti) in Trate – an institution that highlights the importance of human dignity and challenges social stigmas. She has also collaborated for several years with the Faculty of Education in Maribor, contributing to the training of future preschool teachers. Currently, she leads study circles at the Gornja Radgona Public Library, engaging participants in literature, theater, poetry, film, and music. She plays a key role in connecting cultural institutions such as the public library, the cultural-tourism institute Kultprotur, and the Museum of Madness. Curators she has worked with include Nina Jeza, Renata Štebih, Milena Zlatar, Mojca Grmek, Breda Kolar Sluga, Andreja Borin, Irena Čerčnik, Maja Hodošček, Doroteja Kotnik, Ana Grobler, Tatjana Pregl, Alenka Domjan, SONDA, Mojca Štuhec, Amalija Stojsavljević, Sanda Stanaćev Bajzek, Stanka Gačnik, Artists & Poors, Arne Brejc, Denis Volk, Martina Vovk, Andrejka Nose in Dušan Dovč.
